Rxcall
Rxcall does not collect your data. Your medication list — easily among the most sensitive things about you — lives only on your phone. This page explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
Nothing. Rxcall has no user accounts, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting that captures your content, and no servers of ours. There is no database of Rxcall users anywhere, because there is nowhere for one to exist.
On the App Store, Rxcall’s privacy label reads “Data Not Collected.” The app’s code will be published under an open-source license when it launches, so you’ll be able to verify that claim in the code rather than taking our word for it.
Your medication list
The medications you add to Rxcall are stored only on your iPhone, in the app’s local storage. Your list is never uploaded, synced, or shared — not with us, not with anyone.
Recall matching happens on your device: the app fetches public recall data and compares it against your list locally. The comparison, like the list, never leaves your phone.
Delete the app and your list is gone. There is no copy to request, because we never had one.
Recall data
Rxcall fetches recall information directly from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s public data services (openFDA). We are not in the middle.
Like any request on the internet, the FDA’s servers receive your device’s IP address when the app checks for new recalls, handled under their own privacy practices. Requests fetch the public recall feed — they do not include your medication list.
Recall notifications are generated locally on your device, not pushed from a server of ours.
Children
Rxcall collects no data from anyone, including children. The app is intended for adults and for caregivers managing medications on someone’s behalf.
Changes and contact
If this policy ever changes, the change will appear on this page with a new date. Given that the app’s founding commitment is to collect nothing, don’t expect much movement.
