Trialhead
Trialhead does not collect your data. Not your searches, not your health information, not your location — nothing. This page explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
Nothing. Trialhead has no user accounts, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting that captures your content, and no servers of ours. There is no database of Trialhead users anywhere, because there is nowhere for one to exist.
On the App Store, Trialhead’s privacy label reads “Data Not Collected.” The app’s code will be published under an open-source license when it launches, so you’ll be able to verify that claim in the code rather than taking our word for it.
What stays on your device
Anything you enter in Trialhead — a health condition, a location, a saved trial, notes for your doctor — is stored only on your iPhone, in the app’s local storage. It is never uploaded, synced, or backed up to any server of ours.
Delete the app and that information is gone. There is no copy to request, because we never had one.
Your searches
When you search for trials, your query travels directly from your device to ClinicalTrials.gov, the public registry operated by the U.S. National Library of Medicine. We are not in the middle and never see your searches.
Like any request on the internet, ClinicalTrials.gov’s servers receive your query and your device’s IP address, handled under their own privacy practices. We chose a direct connection precisely so that no additional party — including us — is added to that path.
Children
Trialhead collects no data from anyone, including children. The app is intended for adults and for caregivers researching on someone’s behalf.
Changes and contact
If this policy ever changes, the change will appear on this page with a new date. Given that the app’s founding commitment is to collect nothing, don’t expect much movement.
