The Final Stretch Project is a free, open-source project. We build iOS apps that carry public data the rest of the way to the people it’s about.
An early look at Trialhead.
The problem
Governments publish a huge amount of useful data: clinical trials, drug recalls, inspection records, court dockets. Almost all of it is written for researchers, regulators, and professionals, not for the people it’s actually about.
The information is out there. It just never quite reaches the person who needs it. We’re trying to build that last stretch through apps you can use in plain language, at the moment you actually need them.
Our commitments
We wrote these down before we wrote any code, and they don’t change.
No advertising
No ads, ever. And no analytics built to sell you to someone else.
No data collection
What you type stays on your phone. Our apps have no accounts, no logins, and no servers of our own. Your searches go straight from your phone to the public data source.
No interested funding
We don’t take money from anyone with a stake in what you see. For health apps, that means no trial sponsors, no recruitment companies, no drug makers.
How we decide what to build
Does this move the data closer to the person, or move the person closer to the data?
A search form that expects you to know the right medical term fails that test. Letting you type what you’d actually say, and translating it, passes. If a feature only makes sense to someone who already knows the dataset, we don’t build it.

A clinical trial finder in your words
Searching for a clinical trial shouldn’t require learning how ClinicalTrials.gov works. Trialhead lets you search in plain words, explains the eligibility criteria in plain language, and helps you get ready to talk to your doctor about it.
There are other trial-search services out there, but most are funded by trial sponsors and patient recruitment companies, so they have an interest in what you see. Nobody pays us to show you anything.
Trialhead never tells you whether you qualify for a trial. That decision belongs to you, your doctor, and the study team. The app finds trials, explains them, and points you to the study contact. It is not medical advice. Privacy · Support · Source

Rxcall
Recall alerts for the medications you actually take
Drug recalls come out every week, but they’re announced to pharmacies and regulators, and most people never hear about the ones that affect them. Rxcall keeps your medication list on your phone and checks it against public FDA recall data, so the one recall that matters to you actually reaches you.
Your medication list never leaves your phone. If something you take is recalled, Rxcall shows you what the recall says and points you to your pharmacist or doctor. It never tells you to stop or change a medication. Privacy · Support · Source

What’s next
We keep a list of other places where public data doesn’t reach people: choosing a nursing home in a hurry, dealing with a court case without a lawyer, transit apps that don’t know the station elevator is broken.

Open source
Everything we ship is open source under the Apache 2.0 license. You can read every line of code that runs on your phone and check that it does what we say.
We think privacy promises should be checkable, not just something you have to believe.
Both app repos are already public at github.com/finalstretch, even while the apps are still in testing.
Who we are
We’re Ruhi and Reeha, two siblings who are building our first apps. Each of us owns one app, and neither of us can ship a change on our own. Every change is reviewed and approved by the other person before it can be merged, starting with whoever didn’t write it.
Before we started, we signed an agreement with each other to commit to these rules. We have no investors, no sponsors, and nothing to sell.
The code is already public on GitHub, so you don’t have to take any of this on faith.
